DOMINIC
GRECO BAND PREPARES FOR 2010 CONCERT SEASON
Following
a successful 2009 Concert Season, the Dominic Greco Community
Band continues preparations for the 2010 Concert Season,
which will begin on Saturday, May 29 at the Canal Dover Festival.
The
80-member band under the direction of Frederick Delphia, is a
volunteer organization. They have earned a reputation for their
entertaining and outstanding performances, and as the band has
continued to grow, so have their audiences at performances.
In
preparation for the up coming season, several members keep their
playing skills honed by playing in dance groups throughout the
winter. Many of the high school and college
students continue their private
music lessons, along with performing in their respective
bands. The elementary, middle school and high
school music teachers in the Greco
Band also remain active playing their instruments along with their
teaching responsibilities.
Director
Fred Delphia has been working closely with band arranger, Corey
Swinderman in the development of special arrangements written to
spotlight the unique talents in the Dominic Greco Band.
Outstanding instrumentalists and vocalists will be featured
throughout the season.
The
audience always knows they will be in for a musical treat when
they hear this wonderful band. As one of the special concerts for
the 2010 season, the band will use the theme, MUSIC
OF BROADWAY. The schedule for the coming season can be
viewed on this website.
